The Idea: A Brief
I want to design a set of three objects: a vessel for hot water, a tea pot and a tea cup. The idea is to create a drinking experience that brings a person closer to the matter: the tea.
I imagine the perfect tea experience as follows:
I imagine that this set of three objects could perfectly make a sort of tea-connaisseur starter kit including a selection of the finest loose tea leaves.
I am also convinced that if tea was served with these three objects in restaurants or cafés, people would get a much better sense for what they are drinking, which would stir their interest in tea and tea culture.
I imagine the perfect tea experience as follows:
- You brew the tea with the best loose tea leaves available to you (I designed my tea pot around the best tea available to me, Rare Tea Co. tea)
- You have hot water next to you, with which you brew the tea
- The tea is brewed in a pot, designed for one cup of tea
- The tea is poured in a cup that visually matches the tea pot, the tea leaves stay in the tea pot.
- Since you still have hot water left in your water vessel you can re-brew the tea leaves as many times as you like.
